Contact Lens Exams / Fitting Explained
It's important for contact lens wearers to fully understand why a 'contact lens exam' or 'contact lens fit' is required at the time of renewing their contact lens prescription or becoming a new wearer. Precise measurements of your eyes are documented in your electronic health record. These measurements consists of the curvature of your eye and the surface of your eye, as well as, the size of your pupil and iris. Vision and comfort depends on being exact and Dr. Kane excels in this field of his profession.
After discussing what contact lens may be best for you, whether it's a monthly lens, a daily lens, a multifocal contact, a color contact lens, or a toric contact to correct for nearly any amount of an astigmatism, you'll be given trials to wear during your regular routines of work, school, play, and rest. During the trial period, you'll decide if this particular contact lens is either perfect for your individual lifestyle or you may like to try something different. If you're 100% happy with your trial, it is at that time your contact lens prescription is considered finalized. You're ready to order your supply! If you would like to try a different lens, a contact lens follow up appt would be set for you - no fee for this as it's still considered part of the contact lens fitting - and other options available for you would be discussed at this time.
We proudly offer prescriptions for contact lenses in all of the top FDA approved lenses such as, Acuvue, Bausch & Lomb, Alcon, CooperVision, etc...
